Popular globetrotter Cirrus Des Aigles, who has travelled to Paris, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Qatar in the last year, appears to be as good as ever at the age of eight. He makes his debut at Epsom on Saturday in the Investec Coronation Cup, and his connections are confident he will be able to handle the track’s unique features.

The son of Even Top is red-hot favourite to take out a sixth win at the highest level. He’s currently 8-11 favourite with Titan Bet (Free £35) to emerge victorious in the race run in honour of St Nicholas Abbey, the three-time Coronation Cup winner who was put down earlier this year. Cirrus Des Aigles has a past with St Nicholas Abbey, beating him in a thrilling Dubai Sheema Classic two years ago.

The 19-time winner from 48 races is the apple of trainer Corine Barande-Barbe’s eye, and doesn’t appear to be slowing down. The colt has already recorded two Group 1 wins this season, both at Longchamp, and even succeeded in inflicting Treve’s first defeat in the Prix Ganay in April.

Barande-Barbe reports the Christophe Soumillon mount is in top order, saying: “Cirrus Des Aigles is very well. He is leaving at 4am on Friday morning and will be travelling via the Tunnel.

“It will be his first time at Epsom and we will just have to see how he adapts.

“Christophe’s confident and said that it will be no problem as it is just Longchamp in reverse.

“The left-handed course should be fine as he has already won in Dubai and finished second in a Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and the distance [1m4f] is clearly not an issue.

“All is good. He is very playful and eating his sugar – so he is just as he should be.”

Cirrus Des Aigles faces seven rivals in Saturday’s Coronation Cup, including last year’s Oaks winner Talent. Cirrus is followed in the betting slip at Titan Bet (Free £35) by Flintshire (7-2), Talent (6-1), and Empoli (10-10).

Previous Coronation Cup favourite Ruler Of The World was removed from the race after tweaking a muscle following his workout at Ballydoyle on Tuesday.

Three of the best British races are being run this weekend at Epsom Downs racecourse. Make sure to place your bets at Titan Bet (Free £35) – the best racing bookmaker online. Join today to receive a free bet worth up to £35!
